Thinking Out Loud: Single And Almost 30!

Osareti, Susan and I used to have long talks during lunch breaks about how time was moving fast and how we wanted to settle down before 30! I had been single for about 2 years, Susan had been dating for a few years. Osareti had been recently engaged and we were very excited and happy for her! Thank God one of us was off the shelf and out of stock!

It was one of those long work weeks where a TGIF was in order. Some of our colleagues had rallied round to make a hangout happen somewhere on the Island. Osareti lived far and Susan couldn’t make it. I lived close to the island so I decided I was going to stand in for our trio. I invited a neutral girlfriend- Binta to tag along. You know how we girls like to have one girlfriend to gist about the night with.

Yes,it is MONDAY again!
As 9-5 workers or business owners one of the challenges we face is maintaining a work life health balance amidst tight weekly deadlines and business schedules. Except these activities keep us on the move which is dependent on our job descriptions or nature of business, most of our day is spent in sedentary sitting positions at our desks till close of business. The diet during these hours is nothing to write home about. Just shoving down all that carbohydrate and sugar in that one position except we have need to get up like a meeting or using the rest room.
If your company has a gym close by and a healthy menu with fruits and vegetables to choose from at affordable prices or company food packages, then you are blessed in your work place. Bu if not, here are some ways you can stay healthy at work:

We express our condolences to the family of Mayowa Ahmed, the 29 year old woman reportedly down with ovarian cancer, over her death. 
If there is anything her struggle and death has taught us, it is the fact that she stayed courageous till the very end and illuminates the fact that Nigerians still have a human side to them rallying to raise $100,000 in 48 hours to save her life. There remains power in unity and dedication to any task if we put our mind to it. 
 Social media and social networking was an instrumental tool to making this good deed happen and thus shows this channel can be used to propagate more good for humanity than evil.
May Mayowa’s soul rest in peace and may her family receive the comfort they need.
